Terms, conditions and privacy policy

(Porthole Suites Terms & Conditions)

Thank you for choosing to book with the Porthole Suites – we look forward to welcoming you.

When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read all our terms and conditions of booking below.

Prices Include

The price of the accommodation includes the following:

Cleaning every 3 to 4 days
Hot water

*These are bath towels – we request you bring your own beach towels or buy some in Jersey.


Each Suite is suited to a couple. Ground Floor Deluxe Suites can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under the age of 17 on the pull out sofa bed. In some other Suites there is a sofa bed which can accommodate one child under the age of 17. We are unable to accommodate more than two (2) adults in each suite due to fire regulations. Any bookings made for more than two (2) adults will not be confirmed. If unsure please check when booking.


We will do our best to deliver good free WIFI at all times.  We cannot be held responsible for WIFI system breakdowns/Wi-Fi interruptions, but will resolve any technical issues urgently.


Pets are not permitted.

Cancellation and Insurance

Once you have booked your holiday, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable.

We ask for 20% deposit to confirm your booking. The balance is payable 2 weeks prior to arrival.

If, for whatever reason you cannot take your holiday and you cancel more than two (2) weeks before arrival we will retain the deposit.

Within two weeks we charge 100% cancellation/non arrival fee and therefore strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, which can be obtained from any good broker.


The Porthole Suites holds insurance for its own interior furnishings. However, for any claims we need to make, we will ask for the excess of £150 to be paid for by the person responsible. Guests’ should hold their own insurance for personal belongings.


The Porthole Suites has a rear garden, however we don’t advise guests to go out after dusk as it is mostly unlit and there are lots of stairs and much of the garden is uneven. If you go out after dusk you do so at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible for accidents.

Non-availability of accommodation

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation; however, if this was not possible or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.


Your accommodation will be guaranteed to you from 3.00pm on your day of arrival. However we endeavour to collect the exact arrival information of each arrival as often earlier check ins can be facilitated. Reception is not always open and we like to make sure that we are here to welcome guests rather than just leave a key.


Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged.

Please try to leave the accommodation as clean as possible. If you have made use of any further service for which payment has not been made during your holiday, we will provide you with an invoice which is payable on departure.


We ask guests to be courteous and considerate. Any aggression shown to any member of staff or other guest will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave; any monies will be retained.


For the comfort of all guests, no music can be played to a volume that can be heard outside your room.

Smoking, Candles and Naked Flames

We operate a non-smoking policy throughout the interior of the Porthole Suites.  Candles and naked flames are strictly prohibited in line with our fire safety policy.


The Porthole Suites cannot be held liable for any damage, loss, expense, inconvenience, accident, personal injury or death to person or property which may be suffered, incurred, or arise out of or in any way connected with the property where the owner, their employees and/or person otherwise under their control, have used reasonable skill and care.

We cannot accept responsibility for damage or theft of vehicles/bicycles/possessions in the Porthole Suites car park and invite you to use the car park at your own risk.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury which arises as a result of our negligence or that of our employees whilst in the course of their employment.

The Porthole Suites may use the services of a number of suppliers and subcontractors and can accept no liability for any goods or services provided by these suppliers to our Guests.

Force Majeure.  We cannot accept any liability where we cannot fulfil our obligations to our Guests due to circumstances beyond our control.  This would mean any event we cannot foresee with all due care. e.g. (but not limited to riots, war, terrorist activity, civil strife, natural disaster and similar factors beyond our control).


Any data collected during the course of this booking may be kept securely on a computer.
